This wonderful maritime city is dominated by a castle giving it a strong identity and boaters making a stopover here will enjoy exploring the Barri Baix la Mar, a picturesque neighbourhood where fishermen haven't said their last words. While on your sailing holiday in Denia you must stop and visit the Pati de la Creu, the Plaza Sant Antoni, the bridge, the Bellavista public square... Denia is drenched with sunshine over 300 days a year bordering the Mediterranean, on the Costa Blanca midway between Valencia and Alicante. These fantastic conditions make it a great boating spot in Spain especially if you also enjoy windsurfing. Boaters will also appreciate Denia's ideal location to lift the anchor and set your sails for an amazing sailing holiday in the Balearic Islands and Ibiza with your friends or family! Tempting isn't it?
On Denia's 20 km of coastline you can dive in the reserve of Cape San Antoni, winsurf and kitesurf on the beaches of Les Deveses or do absolutely nothing on the beaches of Les Marines and La Punta del Raset near the harbour. But Denia has a long history of sailing and organises prestigious regattas such as the « Routa de la Sal » regatta (end of March) and the « Copa del Canal » regatta in October. In the Port of Denia you're sure to find all sorts of boats; yachts of course but also monohulls catamarans and motorboats.
You'll realise how important the Port of Denia is when you find out it has over 600 berths. There are many boat rental companies on the spot but to have the best sailing holidays in Spain and at the best price it's better to rent a boat with beboats.com. You can also hire a boat through a private owner and stretch your sailing region to Altea (30 km away) and Alicante (75 km away).
The Port of Denia is less than 100km from Ibiza (88 km to be precise), which is about 50 nautical miles . You need to hire a motorboat with a strong engine or opt for a motorboat charter with a skipper for the crossing. This is also the case if you want to rent a smaller motorboat, like a power dinghy for example in order to bring your friends or family safely. As soon as you disembark in Sant Antonio and if you charter a boat with friends you'll be delighted by the nightlife and the beach parties but if charter a boat with your family you'll enjoy the wild scenery and the soft atmosphere the island has to offer.
On a First 27.7 from Saint-Malo with a group of friends. Sailed around the Channel Islands, had a good navigation!
We loved the Baltic Sea in Danemark, especially when we arrived in Copenhagen with its colorful houses. But Sweden and its canals were even better. Had the best time on board of our Oceanis 411!
We were able to do a few quotations with the customer service to find the best boat for our destination. We went for a Lagoon 450, really comfy for the family!
