Fantastic weather most of the year, a succession of dreamy sun-drenched beaches, a rocky coastline that harbours the Mediterranean's prettiest creeks and let's not forget, warm evenings! There are many reasons to spend your sailing holidays in the Balearic Islands and charter a yacht in Majorca. Majorca itself is huge fan of boating events and prestigious regattas are organised in the bay of Palma (The Trofeo Princesa Sofia for example). It's one of the most popular sailing destinations in Spain on an international scale, renowned also for its lively nightlife but for its breathtaking sailing itineraries.
Boating adepts will find what they're looking for here. Fun fact about Majorca is that it has over twenty thousand mooring points. The harbours on the one hand (Llucmajor, Calvià ...) with the port of Palma, the capital, being the most important one. There you'll find luxury yachts, power dinghies or small sailboats for charter. Any type of boat rental is possible, bareboat or with a skipper. For a long sailing holiday in Majorca (one or two weeks) it's better to book in advance but you can always charter through a private boat owner even if it's just for half a day. You can also easily rent a boat in Formentera and anywhere else in the Balearic Islands. Beboats references all the boat rental offers in the Balearics to avoid you the hassle of looking everywhere for your holidays at sea.
International tourism has brought about the development of other watersports besides yacht charter. The island's coastline is dotted with watersport centres who offer numerous activities such as jetskis, windsurfing, diving and fishing. You can also have a lot fun on solid ground too. Don't forget to make a stopover during your sailing holidays in Majorca to stroll done the beautiful hiking trails, which will lead you to typical Majorcan villages or to forgotten monasteries in the serra de Tramuntana (classified by UNESCO). The island is great for active holidays whether it's at sea or on solid ground.
Have you found a cheap sailboat for charter? Lucky you, you have an advantage over the other holidaymakers: the access to the prettiest creeks the island has to offer. Between the sea and the mountains, they are considered to be the most beautiful one in the Mediterranean. This is when your sailing holiday in Majorca begins; you find your dream spot, drop the anchor and relax for the rest of the day. We have a few names to share, the creek of Formentor, Santanyi beach, Cala Sant Vincenc ( a series of several creeks offering you a spectacular view), Cala Figuera and Cala Mesquida. If you are a skippered charter, the captain will know exactly where to take you and if you're in need of isolation he'll make sure to bring the boat away from the crowds.
On a First 27.7 from Saint-Malo with a group of friends. Sailed around the Channel Islands, had a good navigation!
We loved the Baltic Sea in Danemark, especially when we arrived in Copenhagen with its colorful houses. But Sweden and its canals were even better. Had the best time on board of our Oceanis 411!
We were able to do a few quotations with the customer service to find the best boat for our destination. We went for a Lagoon 450, really comfy for the family!
